Last night, FreshGround took a trip to Feed My Starving Children‘s Schaumburg location to pack meals for hungry children around the world. Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. Volunteers (like us) pack a scientifically designed meal formula that is then sent to partner organizations (like schools, orphanages, NGOs, medical clinics, etc.) to be distributed.
The food we packed last night is being sent to Love A Child, one of FMSC’s partner organizations in Haiti. Love A Child is doing amazing work through their outreach programs which include schools, an orphanage, medical clinic and food distribution programs. Check out the video below from Love A Child and Feed My Starving Children to hear the story of a little boy named Nelson.
Not only did we get to pack 12,960 meals that will help make a difference in the lives of children just like Nelson, but we also had a ton of fun doing it! It really is the most fun you’ll ever have in a hairnet.
To learn how you can get involved, check out volunteer opportunities at FMSC’s permanent locations in Minnesota, Illinois or Arizona as well as MobilePack events happening throughout the country!
Thanks so much for packing and for the kind words Sarah! Hope you can come back again soon.
Absolutely! 🙂
